I (Jamie, they/them) am a trans-pangender associate clinician who is interested in working with those who have experienced psychosis, altered states of consciousness, and those who have felt marginalized by their mental health diagnosis. I work with clients utilizing a dynamic psychosocial lens that considers all aspects of your mental well-being as uniquely shaped by your experience of culture and identity.

I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health, wraparound case management, IOP, and private practice. I believe that working directly with clients enhances my ability to do research and effectively respond to my community’s needs.

I take a relational-existentialist approach when working with clients, which means that I contextualize my clients’ experiences by exploring meaning, relationships, and seeking to understand how these aspects of life interact with identity. I also include evidence-based methodology such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support my client’s healing with structure, resources, and education. My theory is porous and adaptive, per the uniqueness of each of my clients, which may be better supported by other counseling frameworks.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in my hometown of Houston, TX, at the University of Houston. I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman’s University, and I am currently a Psychology doctoral student at the University of West Georgia, specializing in consciousness and society research and education.

I am an associate professional counselor in Georgia, which means that I am under the supervision of Anna Baxter, LPC, CPCS. Receiving supervision means that I consult with my supervisor about my cases, which can limit confidentiality when working with me during my training.

I am currently accepting new clients! My rate for services is $140/hr for individual therapy, with limited sliding scale availability. If you are interested in learning more about doing counseling with me, I encourage you to reach out to me directly at (214) 605 1726 or via email jamiecampos.counseling@proton.me to set up a complimentary 15-minute consultation to see if we may be a good match. Wishing you much health and happiness!
