A light in today’s Doom

A recurrent theme in many of our clients’ sessions is the current sociopolitical climate and economy in GA and the United States. It’s a rough time right now, y’all. Recent events impact each person is a variety of ways and with our specialty populations, we are experiencing it ourselves as we support our clients through the darkness. Many of us have been aware, fearful, and lacking hope for a decade or more. Long term stress leads to feeling like danger is inescapable, thus driving our bodies into a freeze state hoping to mentally escape because we can’t physically escape it. People who are frozen can’t act, can’t change the world.

As my favorite Self-Help author of all time puts it:

Doing stuff is important. For ourselves and for our community. Being frozen with fear leads to acquiescing to inhumanity. And we are NOT letting that happen, right?
— Dr. Faith G Harper

Thankfully she has published an article to support everyone struggling to see through the darkness of doom as we wait for her to finish publishing Unfuck Your Doom. It’s a lengthy read but definitely worth your time to read, process, and act.
